Classic Banana Bread

Classic Banana Bread should be in everyones cooking arsenal.

We all end up with over ripe bananas at some point, so don’t throw them out!  There is way too much food waste in this country.  This quick bread is truly quick and easy and your family will love having this around the kitchen to munch on.

As always, use the freshest, highest quality ingredients whenever possible. {Except the bananas. This is the one time I’ll tell you you don’t need an ingredient to be fresh!}

Gather your ingredients and mash up your bananas.

Shift the flour, baking soda and salt together.

Cream the butter and sugar, add the eggs and whisk some more.

Continue by adding the bananas and then alternating the flour mixture and the milk.  Careful not to over mix.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Mash bananas and set aside.
  3. Shift or whisk flour, baking soda and salt together and set aside.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  5. Beat in eggs.
  6. Add bananas.
  7. Add flour mixture and milk, alternating.
  8. Mix just until well blended.
  9. Pour into loaf pan and bake for one hour.
