I’m always finding myself at the Ayala Farms market stand on any given market day. Their produce is fresh, consistent, and well priced. This is where I often stop for my staples: carrots, celery, peppers, etc… And their strawberries are so sweet and juicy, what they grow the most of and are known for.
What I didn’t realize until I asked to interview them, is that this is a three generation farm! Although only 8 years old, it was started by the senior Ayala and his daughters on 10 acres of land in Oxnard, CA. Pictured above and below is Diego (and helper Skarlete) who now helps out his parents and aunts with the farm. But from what I hear, Abuelo Ayala is often on hand to make sure things are running smoothly!
You can find most of your everyday sort of veggies here: tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, celery, cabbage, carrots and so much more.
Visit Ayala Farms market stands at the following farmers markets throughout the greater LA area:
- Saturday’s: Calabasas
- Sunday’s: Woodland Hills, Westlake Village, Brentwood, Channel Islands Harbor and Larchmont Village
Make sure to say to Diego if you see him!
