Looking for the perfect gift for the foodie/homesteader in your life? Check out The Valley Hive, a local to LA business run by friends that fell in love with bees and beekeeping and built their business hive by hive.. Unless you have your own bees, it’s rare that you know where your honey comes from. And what’s better then supporting a local shop?
Based in the LA suburb of Chatsworth, The Valley Hive sources their honey from their hives sprinkled around the valley area. (I live so close to some of their hives that for all I know their bees are getting pollen from my own garden! ) The Valley Hive isn’t just about honey, though. They have a great shop that sells everything you need to get into beekeeping yourself, and also offer beekeeping services and education. I wrote an article on their beekeeping classes a little while back.
They Valley Hive recently moved to a new location on Topanga Canyon Blvd (where they also have a nursery) with the cutest shop full of honey and all things related to honey and bees.
If you don’t live in the area, you can still purchase from The Valley Hive online. They also have booths at farmers markets across the greater Los Angeles area.
The Valley Hive is located at: 10538 Topanga Cyn Bl, Chatsworth, CA
Hours: everyday, 8:30-5:00
