There is always so much going on in LA. It’s usually a matter of, “What can I fit in this weekend?”, or more likely, “How far is it and how much traffic will I be in?” Right? I love LA!
Well, I definitely plan on making time to read the just released first chapter of Harper Lee’s ‘Go Set a Watchman‘. No driving involved.
There is the awesome Renegade Craft Fair in DTLA’s Grand Park. A two day event full of creatives selling their goods.
Maybe try the LA Street Food Fest? Saturday only at the Rose Bowl.
Personally this is what I’ll be doing:
Orcutt Ranch’s annual Fruit Pick! This weekend, this beautiful ranch opens it’s orange and grapefruit orchards to the public. From 7-1, you can come on by and fill up a bag for only $3 or a box for $5! I had a great time doing this last year. Go early before it gets too hot. And while you’re there, walk the grounds and learn the history of this ranch.
I’ll also be heading to the Woodland Hills Public Library for a FREE, yes free, workshop on container gardening. Did you know the LAPL system has tons of awesome free workshops, many having to do with gardening, the drought, food, etc…? Go to their “What’s On?” calendar and search by library or topic. I’m really looking forward to attending more of the ‘To Live and Dine in LA‘ series!
What are you doing this weekend?
